Rate Determination Initiation Notice and Public Forum Invite for Section 23, Developmental and Behavioral Clinic Services: Child Abuse Evaluations

This bulletin provides notice that the Department has initiated a Rate Determination Process* for Child Abuse Evaluations under Section 23 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual (MBM). The Department is conducting this rate determination to improve member access to this service. The Department will assess, and determine as appropriate, a new rate amount or reimbursement model in accordance with Maine statute.

On May 17, 2024, MaineCare will host a virtual public forum via Zoom, to present a draft rate and methodology for Child Abuse Evaluation. Participants will have the opportunity to provide public comment. At the conclusion of the forum, interested parties may submit written comments by the deadline of May 21, 2024. The Department will then respond in writing with an explanation of whether and how the feedback was incorporated into the final rates.

As providers and interested parties, your feedback is important, and we encourage your participation. You may track all of our Rate Reform work on the MaineCare Rate System Reform webpage.

For questions on this process, please contact Amanda Lee, MaineCare’s Rate Setting Coordinator.
